WARLOCK HISTORY

In February 1967, the aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La was cruising the Mediterranean Sea on an eight-month deployment with the United States Navy’s Sixth Fleet. Aboard this proud vessel were thirteen young sailors—brothers in service and spirit—who shared a deep passion for motorcycles and the freedom of the open road. Amidst the steel decks and roaring jets, a bold idea began to take shape: to form a motorcycle club that would carry their bond beyond the sea. They chose the name Warlocks, a symbol of power, mystery, and rebellion. One of the original thirteen designed the now-iconic Phoenix Firebird emblem—a fierce symbol of rebirth and strength—that remains unchanged on the backs of Warlocks Brothers to this day.
Among these founding members was Grub, a sailor from Lockhart, Florida. After returning home, Grub established the first Warlocks chapter on the outskirts of Orlando. That original chapter still stands strong today as the Orlando Mother Chapter, the heart of a brotherhood that has grown across decades and continents. After living a life full of adventure and loyalty, Grub passed away on March 1st, 2019. He is deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.Today, Warlocks around the world carry forward his spirit with pride and gratitude. His dedication and vision forged a legacy that continues to thrive.
Over the past fifty years, the Warlocks Motorcycle Club has expanded its reach, hosting chapters throughout the United States, England, and Germany. Yet no matter how far the Warlocks ride, their roots remain anchored in the legacy of the USS Shangri-La and the vision of their founding Brothers. At the top of this page, you’ll see the image of the USS Shangri-La—where it all began. As many Brothers in the Warlock Nation will tell you:
“God is Great, and Grub is Good.”
Warlocks Forever, Forever Warlocks.
